Safe reversal of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers using hyaluronidase - for lumps, migration or outcomes that have not met your expectations. It is advisable for previous dermal filler to visit the practitioner who administered it to dissolve it.
Initial change is often visible within 24-48 hours; tissues typically settle over 1-2 weeks. Re-filling is usually considered ≥2 weeks after full resolution.
Dissolving treatment uses hyaluronidase, an enzyme that rapidly breaks down hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. It’s useful for managing migration, lumps/bumps, over-filled appearance or asymmetry, and forms part of emergency protocols for suspected vascular events.
Only HA fillers can be dissolved. Non-HA fillers and implants require other approaches.
Keep the area clean; avoid makeup for 24h and heat/strenuous exercise/alcohol for 24-48h. Do not massage unless advised. Sleep slightly elevated the first night. Use paracetamol if required; consider a non-drowsy antihistamine for itch if advised.
We use pharmaceutical-grade hyaluronidase and follow emergency-ready protocols. Very rare but serious reactions (e.g. anaphylaxis/angioedema) require immediate medical attention-seek help urgently if you develop breathing difficulty, throat/tongue swelling, or widespread hives.
For your safety, please read this list-if any apply, contact us before booking.
Expect swelling and tenderness for 24-72h. Keep the area clean; avoid makeup on treated skin for 24h, alcohol/sauna/steam/strenuous exercise for 24-48h, and avoid massaging or pressing the area unless instructed. Sleep slightly elevated the first night. Paracetamol may be used for discomfort (avoid ibuprofen/aspirin if possible). Non-drowsy antihistamines can help with itchiness if advised. Contact the clinic urgently for increasing severe pain, spreading redness, fever, breathing difficulty, or facial swelling
Only **hyaluronic acid (HA)** fillers respond to hyaluronidase. Permanent or semi-permanent fillers (e.g. silicone, CaHA, PLLA) cannot be dissolved with this treatment.
You’ll usually see change within **24-48 hours**, with further settling over **1-2 weeks**. Some cases need **2-3 sessions** depending on the amount and placement of filler.
Yes-true allergy is uncommon but possible. We take a detailed history and will perform a small **test dose/skin test** before treatment.
Hyaluronidase can temporarily break down some **native HA**, so the area may look flatter for a short period. Your body replaces native HA over time.
Usually after **≥2 weeks** once swelling has resolved and the area has settled. Complex cases may benefit from waiting a little longer.
For aesthetic reasons (migration, lumps, asymmetry, over-filled look) or medical reasons (suspected vascular issues, nodules/biofilm, or delayed inflammatory reactions) following clinical assessment.
